System 1’s Safety Chief’s vision is to cultivate a safety culture that transcends norms, where every individual is empowered to prioritize safety above all else.

We aspire to foster a workplace environment where safety is not just a policy, but a deeply ingrained value that guides every action and decision.

Through continuous education, open communication, and proactive measures, we aim to create a culture where safety is instinctive, collaboration is key, and each person feels personally responsible for the well-being of themselves and their colleagues.

Safety

Promoting safety for our employees and all others affected by our services is a core tenet of our business. System 1’s goal is to practice safety “EVERY HOUR” of the day and in every task we perform.

Our Safety Chief is used to identify potential hazard points in an effort to prevent accidents and injuries.

Our comprehensive Safety Chief Program ensures that our staff is well-trained on safety procedures across all avenues of our business by providing new hire safety training, monthly safety meetings, on-site safety policies and procedures training, safety and health standards education, OSHA-required courses and subtle reminders at potential hazard points.

Lifting Chief – reminder to properly lift items correctly.

Ear Protection Chief – reminder to wear the prop ear protection.

Wet floor Chief – reminder to identify hazardous floor conditions.

Fire Ext Chief – reminder to identify fire extinguisher locations and how to operate.

Safety Shoe Chief – reminder to wear the proper footwear at work.

Wellness Chief – reminder to hydrate, stretch and to make healthy choices.

Back Pack Chief – reminder to follow back pack training procedures.

First Aid Chief – reminder to maintain first aid kits.

Chemical Chief – reminder to mix and use chemicals as per labels.

Ladder Chief – reminder to properly climb ladders.

Driving Chief – reminder to drive safely and lawfully.

Safety Chief – reminder to wear proper eye protection, gloves and follow all safety procedures while working.

New Hire Safety Training

System1 trains all new employees on health and safety during orientation. All staff members receive hands-on training and education to properly understand rules, regulations, task-specific prevention methods, and reporting methods should an accident occur while working. System1 values the importance of safety protocols.

Monthly Safety Meetings

Monthly safety meetings are held electronically and/or in-person to discuss relevant safety topics. Safety meetings brief new employees on all safety metrics involving slips and falls, chemical spills, using protective equipment, and more.

On-Site Safety Policy & Procedures

Comprehensive safety policy and procedures are available to staff, supported with posters and/or stickers on equipment as reminders.

OSHA-Required Trainings

System1 trains everyone on these standards:

Bloodborne Pathogens
Hazardous Communication
SDS in all closets
Emergency temporary standards (ETS) that minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission at work

Fleet Safety

Our fleet safety policy establishes protective measures and compliance regulations for drivers navigating company vehicles to improve driver safety while reducing risk. A comprehensive GPS system in each vehicle monitors its location and operation.

Safe Driver Program

The safe driver program is an additional form of driver training for staff who operates company vehicles while working. The safe driver program uses a GPS to monitor driving while promoting accident prevention.

Accident Investigation & Reporting

Accident policies and procedures assist System1 in filing prompt claims and reports when needed.

Return to Work Program

We offer a formal return-to-work policy that outlines how we handle work-related injuries or sickness. At System1, we’re committed to the health and well-being of our employees and provide them with the necessary care to get them back on their feet.
