Our History

In 1992 Robert Garcia formed an alliance with Varsity Facility Services. He started a cleaning enterprise to service telecommunications, commercial and retail customers. He called this company Varsity Garcia. Robert and his associates, many of whom developed their skills with Varsity, built that fledgling operation into a thriving total facilities services company. The cornerstone of its growth was a strong commitment to excellence in service and integrity. After several years of operation, the Board of Directors changed the name of the company to System 1 to more fully reflect the scope of services they were providing to their customers. Today System 1 operates throughout the country.

Early in System 1’s history, Robert and his associates realized that a company’s physical facility was more than just a place where products were made or services were performed. It is a place where ideas are cultivated, employees are nurtured, customers are satisfied, and success is bred. It is a mirror of how the company sees itself and what its people value. System 1’s commitment to our customers is emphasized today in our determination to exceed their expectations in all we do.

Our Values

Since the day  System 1 was founded, we have reinforced and consistently developed our company values to show our employees what we stand for regarding support, ethics, and upholding integrity. System 1 is more than a work facility or a means for profit. It is a place of purpose and a community of acceptance. We aim to go above the needs and expectations of our employees when needed most and ask for the same in return when delivering quality performance and treatment solutions to our customers. We pride ourselves on six core values that have existed since the beginning of our company and remain as a blueprint for our service standards.

The Individual

We treat all people with the respect and dignity every human being deserves. This attitude prevails in our offices, in our workplaces, and in all our business relationships.

The Family

We view the family as the fundamental unit of society and strive as a company to promote and strengthen the family wherever possible.

Our Country

The liberties and blessings and the great free enterprise system we enjoy stems from the Constitution of this great nation. We sustain and support those laws, efforts and activities that keep America strong and free.

Productive Work

We view honest labor as not only a necessity but a privilege. We enjoy the opportunity for meaningful work, and continually seek to increase our productivity and to find enjoyment and self-fulfillment in our occupation.

Our company is founded on principles of honesty, integrity, fairness, and high ethical standards. We are committed to maintaining these values, both as a company and as individuals.

Industry Image

We regard the position of the professional facility service provider as one deserving honor and respect. We work to elevate the image of these professionals in any way we can.

We treasure the wealth of opportunity offered by this great nation. We defend the right of every individual to share in that opportunity equally regardless of race, sex, or creed.

We believe in setting and achieving worthy and high objectives, both as a company and as individuals. The company’s objectives include sustained growth, fair profits, and a continuing corporate integrity. The company also strives to help individuals grow personally and to develop their own talents and abilities.

System 1 people are achievers, and we demand the very best from ourselves. We never settle for “just getting by” but strive for excellence in all we do.
